Core capabilities

What the platform does for you

Each capability below is marked with what is available today and what is still on the roadmap. We would rather tell you the boundary than let you discover it in production.

One-click provisioning

Available

Choose engine, version, region, compute, memory and NVMe storage. The platform builds the instance, generates credentials and hands back a working endpoint — no operator touches a config file.

Managed endpoints and TLS

Available

Every database gets a managed endpoint, an encrypted connection and securely generated credentials. Passwords are encrypted at rest and revealed only to authorised users, with each reveal recorded.

Backups with verified restores

Available

Scheduled and on-demand backups with configurable retention. Every backup is restore-tested into a throwaway instance before it is marked verified, because an untested backup is not a backup.

Point-in-time recovery

On the roadmap

Restore supported engines to a chosen moment using continuous transaction log archiving.

Snapshot restore is available today. Continuous WAL archiving is Phase 2.

High availability

On the roadmap

Primary and replica architecture with health checks and automatic failover for mission-critical workloads.

Streaming replication ships today. Automatic failover needs the consensus layer — Phase 2.

Read replicas

Available

Add streaming replicas to take reporting and analytics traffic off your primary. Replicas are read-only and their lag is reported live.

PostgreSQL today. MySQL and MariaDB replication is Phase 3.

Monitoring and alerts

Available

CPU, memory, storage, connections, query latency, cache efficiency and replication lag — collected from the engine itself, not guessed from the host.

Scaling and maintenance

Available

Move between plans with a controlled workflow. Your data volume is preserved across the change; only the compute envelope is replaced.

Network security

Available

Per-database IP allow-lists enforced at the host firewall, role-based access for your team, secret management and an immutable audit trail.

Full API coverage

Available

Every lifecycle action — create, resize, back up, restore, replicate, analyse — is available through the API with scoped keys, so provisioning can live in your pipeline.

How provisioning works

Ten steps from an empty form to a database accepting connections. You see the price before anything is created.

  1. 1

    Create database

Name it and pick the project it belongs to.

  2. 2

    Select engine

PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Valkey or pgvector.

  3. 3

    Select version

    Explicit, tested engine versions.

  4. 4

    Select region

Regions with an attached node accept new databases.

  5. 5

    Select plan

    vCPU, RAM and NVMe storage.

  6. 6

    Configure HA

Single node, or replicas for read scale.

  7. 7

    Configure backup

    Schedule and retention window.

  8. 8

    Configure network

Public endpoint with an IP allow-list.

  9. 9

    Review price

Monthly cost including GST before anything is created.

  10. 10

    Deploy

Provisioning runs automatically and reports progress.

What we hold ourselves to

The acceptance criteria the platform was built against. Every one of these has been exercised end to end against a live node.

  • Create a PostgreSQL instance from the dashboard
  • Provisioning completes with no operator configuring the engine
  • A working TLS endpoint and credentials are returned
  • Health and performance metrics are visible in the portal
  • A scheduled backup is created and a restore demonstrated
  • Allowed source IPs can be changed by the customer
  • Deletion follows a controlled, auditable workflow
  • Provisioning actions are idempotent or safely recoverable
  • The operator dashboard shows fleet health and failed jobs
  • Security-sensitive operations record an audit event
